Chicago State University

On Friday, I attended a meeting at Chicago State University. It's a beautiful campus near 95th and King Drive. I learned about two valuable support systems available for CSU students. One is the Latino Resource Center and the other is the African American Male Resource Center. Both groups sent representatives to share stories of support from over the years. These stories extended from helping students connect to tutoring, to helping provide a student with CTA passes after his bike was stolen.

Wherever you decide to go to college, it is so important to look at what kinds of student support groups are in place. College is a time of transition and real-world learning. When you have a support system, it makes it a lot easier and a lot more fun.
