College Experience

One college experience I've had was when I visited a college in the 6th grade. We visited UIC and received a tour from one of the students that attended that school. It was a fun experience because we sort of got a chance to experience college life for a couple hours. It was interesting to see how much freedom they had but how controlled they were in that environment. They all acted grown up which was weird to me because they were still in school. But it was a good experience to see at least what to expect from a college campus.

  1. Thank you for your post Rickia! You bring up a very insightful observation...freedom in college. When we begin college tours, and you meet college students, start thinking about how this observation may spark questions you have about the transition from high school to college. How do college students learn how to manage and structure their time? What resources do colleges have to help you do this?
